Shah Rukh Khan, one of the biggest names in Indian cinema, has recently visited the Nakheel Sales Centre.

Described by Time Magazine as "the world's biggest movie star in terms of recognition", King Khan as he is known in the industry - has hit international stardom with movies such as Dilwale, Kal Ho Na Ho, Devdas, and Swades. Shah Rukh Khan had already visited Nakheel in 2004, when, he was lavish in his praise of Nakheel's projects, and stated his intention for a return visit in 2005: "I am lost for words when I see the achievements of Nakheel's Palm projects and can not wait for my return visit, when so much more will have changed and been attained.» On his recent visit to Nakheel, Shah Rukh Khan received a tour of the sales centre, and a boat trip to The World, where he explored The World's show villa and hospitality suite.

Shah Rukh Khan's admiration for Dubai is well documented: "Dubai has become one of our family's favourite places to visit, we are constantly surprised and charmed at the hospitality this city offers: it is an inspiration to other cities wishing to become an international destination for tourism, art and leisure. The vibrancy by which the city lives invades the senses to heady heights and the truly multinational lifestyle leaps out at the visitor at every corner, bringing the best of many countries to one place."

The visit was hosted by Manal Shaheen, Nakheel's General Manager VIP Sales. Manal said, "The unprecedented and iconic nature of Nakheel projects has attracted a wealth of international statesmen and celebrities, and in the world of cinema they don't come much bigger than Shah Rukh Khan. On his visit, he was very impressed by the scope, quality and uniqueness of Nakheel's projects, as well as being complimentary of the attractive, cosmopolitan nature of Dubai and the great strides it has made in becoming the region's leading tourist destination. His interest again illustrates that projects such as The Palm and The World are helping consolidate Dubai's international profile as a progressive, innovative 21st Century City."

The World is made up of 300 man-made islands designed to form the shape of the world map, lying 4km off the coast of Dubai. Measuring approximately 9 km in width by 7 km in length, the development will cover approximately 9,340,000 square meters, will be visible to the naked eye from space and will add an additional 232 kilometers of beachfront to Dubai's coastline. The World will be the most exclusive and sought after community offering the most exciting residential and leisure opportunities in the fastest growing tourist destination on the planet.
