Nakheel sets sail with Palm Jumeirah and World Islands Cruises

17th January 2012

Dubai, 16 January 2012, Nakheel  has launched a unique leisure cruise facility for the Palm Jumeirah and World Islands, allowing Dubai’s residents and visitors the chance to see its flagship developments from a completely new perspective.

The cruises, under the brand name “Cruise with Nakheel” tour the inner waters of Palm Jumeirah’s crescent, offering new views of the island’s luxury resorts, villas, apartment complexes and marina.

Cruise with Nakheel offers trips for groups of up to 12, 15 or 30 people, on three sizes of vessel including an 80ft, double-decker Houseboat with ample indoor and shaded, outdoor seating.  The smaller motor boats are 38ft and 52 ft, and offer inside and outside viewing areas.   Cruise prices start from 1,000 AED per boat, depending on the size of the vessel.

Operating daily between 9am and 5pm, trips last one hour and begin at the Nakheel offices on Al Sufouh Road, just before the entrance to Palm Jumeirah. Passengers will sail north between the tips of the island’s fronds and its 11.5 km long crescent, or breakwater, home to a growing number of hotels and resorts including Atlantis, Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, The Emerald Palace Kempinski and the One and Only The Palm.

Saeed Harib, Managing Director, Nakheel Marine and Leisure, said: “Cruise with Nakheel is a completely new concept for marine tourism. Travellers can now go ‘inside’ Palm Jumeirah and enjoy views of the island and its buildings as never before. The Palm is already one of Dubai’s biggest attractions, and we look forward to bringing more visitors to this world-famous landmark through our new cruise service.

Cruise with Nakheel trips to The World Islands are also available.
